Episode One 10/24 5:00– Jose Cabrera is the head supervisor for the Infant of Prague Catholic Church Thrift Store in Jacksonville. Donations of clothing, furniture, and all other miscellaneous merchandise will be gratefully accepted. The store is operated by volunteers and all proceeds after rent and utilities will be used to support the needy in our community. Learn more HERE.
Episode Two 10/31 5:24- Mairym Rosa with Latitude Espanol Church in New Bern. They hold church services for the Latin community on Sundays at 2:30 PM.
Episode Three 11/7 & 11/14 7:18- Brian is a volunteer for the intake Department at the Infant of Prague Thrift Store and talks about the process of dropping off items and the details regarding turning in “pre-cleaned” items.
Episode Four 11/21 5:48- Trinidad Corrales is a popular figure among Jacksonville’s Latino community. He is also known as “Triny” by most and everyone would agree how important he is to our community. Free cutouts for kids, Toy4Tots, food drives, clothing drives, food delivery services for the less fortunate are just a few of the services he is a part of.
Episode Five 12/12 & 12/19 & 1/2 8:18- Yasmin from the Department of Health spoke to Santana about the importance of children being vaccinated.
Episode Six 1/30 10:04- La Texanita speaks with Yasmin from the NC Department of Health about COVID-19 booster shots, vaccines for children, and the benefit of the vaccine in the fight against the Omicron variant. Episode Seven 2/20 8:15- Santana talks with Mario from MENAC. MENAC Incorporated is a Veteran founded and operated nonprofit that is positioned and was purposefully created for the mental growth, educational expansion, and societal awareness of every child, teenager, and young adult between the ages of 12 and 30 years old that lives in an underdeveloped neighborhood and community. Episode Eight 3/13 & 3/27 9:04- Santana speaks with Remy who works with Martial Arts & More, a local Martial Arts program located in the heart of Jacksonville. They offer a plethora of programs and youth activities. Veteran-owned and operated. This weekend (3/26 & 3/27) they are hosting a FREE children’s event- all ages welcome!

Episode Eleven 5/15 31:48– Dennis Escobar is the Carolinas Care Partnership Linkage & Prevention Program director. La Texanita speaks with him about STDs and treatment. They provide advice, medicine, and support in treatment. The national number for help is 1-800-448-0440. They also have psychological support programs for people diagnosed. Episode Twelve 5/22 29:38- La Texanita interviews Daniela Ramirez, she is a recipient of the Golden Door Scholarship, for students in the United States, but gives preference to those in North and South Carolina who want to go to college or a university. Jake partnered with Hope for the Warriors & finished his ride at The Steven A Cohen Military Family Clinic, a clinic that provides confidential, high quality behavioral health care services at little to no cost to veterans & active duty. Episode Twenty-Nine 12/4 & 12/11 5:34- This weeks Insight speaks to Rachel Kennedy, the programs manager with the CSS Neuse Museum that helped spearhead the new sensory inclusive experience in partnership with KultureCity. This new initiative will make exploring the museum a little easier for visitors with sensory sensitivities, including people on the autism spectrum, as well as people with sensory processing disorders, PTSD and other needs. Episode Thirty-Three 1/22 & 1/29 7:28- Insight speaks to Dr. Matthew Ledoux, Pediatrician in Chief, ECU Healthy and Brody about the dangers of edibles, and how they are affecting our youth and getting into our schools. Dr. Ledoux also stress that while Poison Control can be helpful at times, if a child/teen is experiencing side effects, and the # of gummies ingested is unknown, the emergency room is the safest decision.
